Logan Pierce Testa, 12, of Woodbridge had the heart of a superhero. So it's only appropriate that he was named after Marvel's Wolverine. In Logan's 12 years he courageously and heroically battled againstependymoma brain tumors.
On Friday, Sept. 14, Logan passed away with his loving family by his side. He had just started 7th grade at Amity Middle School in Bethany. Logan's family created a Facebook page, Logan Strong / Wolverine Strong where hundreds of people signed up to follow Logan's four-year cancer battle.

Numerous people offered Logan and his family support during the past few years. The family said they created the social media page after Logan was diagnosed with an antiplastic ependymoma in February 2014.
At the time the family created the page, they wrote, "Logan is still fighting the battle. Like the Wolverine, he is strong and ready to fight." And fight he certainly did.

On Sept. 14, 2018, just before midnight, his parents shared the sad news about Logan's death.
"Today we lost our Wolverine. Logan is now pain free. I know he will always be with us. Paul and I feel so honored that he chose us to be his parents. Naming him after a superhero wasn’t just a coincidence, it was meant to be. With all the surgeries, treatments, hospital visits, ER visits, diets, juices, supplements etc. He never complained about anything he was always so brave. Just like the wolverine at the end of (Logan), he never stopped fighting till the very end when his body just couldn’t fight anymore. Paul and I want to thank everyone for all the love and support. We appreciate all your thoughts , gifts and cards."
The family concluded their message about Logan by saying, "....know more than anything we need your support, your friendship and your understanding, cause a lifetime is an impossibly long time to wait to see and hold Logan again."
The family has used the Logan Strong Facebook page to thank folks who have offered them support and help during this difficult time.
Logan played baseball for Beth-Wood Baseball League, enjoyed boxing, building things, drawing in his sketchbooks, going to Walt Disney World, was a WWE, Green Bay Packers and New York Yankees fan, also enjoyed watching all Marvel and DC Comics movies, Star Wars, baseball, football and boxing.
Logan is survived by his parents Paul and Stephanie Testa of Woodbridge. Brother of Samantha Marion Testa, his twin Kalel Clark Testa and beloved dogs, Elle, Buster and Stella. Grandson of Lesley Testa, the late Louis F. Testa, Jr., Jolyne Gilbert (Salvatore Staiano), Robert Gilbert (Chris Manzi) and Nephew of Louis Testa III and Erica Gilbert.
You can honor Logan's legacy by making all contributions in memory of Logan Pierce Testa to the CERN Foundation, PO Box 217, Zionsville, IN 46077. The funeral was held earlier this week and the family asked participants to wear a Wolverine shirt or something blue (Logan’s favorite color).
