2 Woodbridge Men Arrested On Weapon Charges: Hamden Police

Three people were arrested after BB gunshots were fired from a vehicle on Halloween night in Hamden, according to police.

HAMDEN, CT — Three people were arrested after a Hamden police officer heard BB gunshots coming from a vehicle on Halloween night, according to officials.

The vehicle was traveling on Fourth Street when police conducted a motor vehicle stop, according to Sgt. Angela Vey.

The driver was identified as 20-year-old Quinton Belton-Tilghman, of Woodbridge, along with passenger Rayshon Jacobs, 20, of Woodbridge, and a 17-year-old passenger from Brockton, Massachusetts, according to Vey.

Vey said police recovered two knives, four BB guns and various pellet ammunition from the vehicle.

No injuries were reported and there was no reported property damage, according to Vey.

Belton-Tilghman, Jacobs and the juvenile were charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, illegal use of a facsimile firearm and second-degree breach of peace.

Belton-Tilghman and Jacobs were held in lieu of a $5,000 bond with a court date of Nov. 14. The juvenile is scheduled to appear in New Haven Superior Court for Juvenile Matters on Nov. 14, and was released on a written promise to appear.

The officer, along with other officers from the Hamden Police Department’s Crime Deterrent Unit, were conducting high visibility patrols on Halloween to ensure the public’s safety, Vey said.
