Admissions Decisions Are Upon Us - Rejected or Accepted
Many students and their parents will be overjoyed when they are accepted, but what should they do regarding unfavorable decisions.

Many students and their parents will be overjoyed when they are accepted into the private school or college of their choice. HOWEVER, for those who are not happy with current educational situations open to them or their children, my team and I help broaden those horizons.
Since I am well acquainted with the admissions policies of elite private schools, Ivy League and highly selective colleges and universities in the Northeast and throughout the country, my role as an admissions advisor is to advise, guide and support so that parents as well as children can attain their educational dreams.
Here is some advice I provide students and their parents on what they should do regarding unfavorable decisions.

1. Colleges – rejection: The student may consider reapplying as a transfer student. I call it our Admissions Second Chance Program. I review what went wrong. Usually I find mistakes on the Common Application and/or school-specific supplemental essays. Many times I discover that no matter how “amazing” the student sounds on paper, to me, they are unconvincing to an admissions committee at a specific school. In these cases, we make recommendations to improve the student’s profile and properly connect the dots within their application and beyond. From time to time, based on unique cases, our clients’ applications were reconsidered and they were accepted.
2. Colleges – waitlist: I use our waitlist-to-acceptance strategies. I try to discover why the student was not rejected, build upon their current student profile and accomplishments and re-energize their application so that they are removed from the waitlist and accepted.

3. Private school – rejection: It’s usually an application that’s not consistent with the student and/or family profile or both the parental and student interviews failed to present the student in a positive and competitive light. I assist my clients with the re-application process.
4. Private school – waitlist: I use similar strategies that I use with college admissions, but act more as a liaison and advocate for my clients in private school admissions.
