Amity Boys Track Takes Third in SCC Championship

Charles Dunn wins All-SCC honors with his first-place shot put heave of 47-feet and 6-inches.

As expected, throwing proved to be Amity’s strongest suit at last week’s Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) boys championship track and field meet, which was held at Sheehan High in Wallingford.

Charles Dunn won All-SCC honors with his first place shot put heave of 47-feet and 6-inches. Taylor Tambis duplicated that fete with his 137-6 in the discus. Dan Raucci added a sixth place 113-10 in the discus.

Those three efforts accounted for 22 of the Spartans’ 80 points. Hand won the championship meet with 99 points. Hillhouse was second at 95, followed by the third place Spartans of Coach Thom Jacobs.
