Bethany and Woodbridge Election 2016: Winners Called in 17th State Senate, 114th State House Races
Before you head into the voting booth on Election Day here's information on all the candidates, polling places and more.

Update: Political newcomer George Logan, a Republican, has upset 12-term incumbent Democrat Joseph Crisco in the 17th State Senate race, reports Connecticut political guru Ken Dixon.
An Ansonia resident, Logan is the director of environmental management and government relations at Aquarion Water Company.

Incumbents Kevin C. Kelly (21st Senate), Themis Klarides (114th House), Linda M. Gentile (104th House) and Jason Perillo (113th House) all won, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State's Office.

Original story: Bethany and Woodbridge residents will head to the polls on Nov. 8 for the 2016 Presidential election.
Polling places in the two communities, and throughout the state, will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and so far turnout reportedly has been solid in Connecticut.

On the ballot, registered voters in Woodbridge will be able to select candidates for president and vice president, United States senator, representatives to U.S. Congress, state senator, state representative, and registrar of voters. Bethany voters can select all of the same positions except for the registrar.

In Woodbridge, the choice for 14th Senatorial District involves Democratic candidate Gayle Slossberg and the Republican candidate is Pat Libero. Slossberg is a six-term incumbent. Pat Libero has been an educator for more than 35 years, serving as a Special Education Teacher, Principal and Vice Principal in the West Haven school system.

For the 17th Senatorial District in Bethany, Democratic candidate Joseph Crisco and Republican candidate George Logan. Crisco is completing his 12th term. Logan, of Ansonia, is the director of environmental management and government relations at Aquarion Water Company.
In the 84th State House District, two-term Republican incumbent Lezlye Zupkus, who represents Bethany and other towns, is running unopposed.
For the 114th State House District, the Republican candidate is Themis Klarides and the Working Families Party candidate is Aldon M. Hynes, who has run against Klarides before as a Democrat. Klarides, who is also the House Republican Leader, is serving her ninth term.
Republican Anna Dickerson and Democrat Elias A. Alexiades are the candidates for Woodbridge Registrar of Voters.
The candidates for president and vice president are Republicans Donald Trump and Mike Pence, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine, Libertarians Gary Johnson and Bill Weld, and Green Party Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka.
For United States Senate, the candidates are incumbent Richard Blumenthal, Democrat, Dan Carter, Republican, Richard Lion, Libertarian, and Jeffrey Russell, Green Party.
For United States Congress, the choice for the Third District is between incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat and Angel Cadena, a Republican.
