Bethany and Woodbridge Set to Lose Major State Funding Grants

Bethany would incur a 10 percent reduction in state funding; Woodbridge would take a 14 percent hit under plan Malloy released on Monday.

The bad news keeps coming for Connecticut municipalities as the state attempts to claw out from under its budget mess.

Under Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's revised, proposed adjustments to the fiscal year 2019 budget previously adopted by the legislature state municipal aid would be cut nearly $100 million - both in the education and non-education side.

For Bethany, it would be a 10 percent cut from the previously approved $2.28 million - to $2 million. For Woodbridge, it would be a 14 percent cut from the previously approved $1 million to $870,000.
