Biome Bonanza in Bethany

BCS students do some in-depth research.

The fourth grade students at Bethany Community School studied four biomes this year:  rainforest, ocean, arctic, and desert. They also studied ecosystems within each of these biomes. Each student was assigned an animal within one biome.

At school, the student did all of their research during writing workshop, organized their research, paraphrased information, and wrote their research papers. The students made powerpoint slides of their research and presented their work on poster boards to share with the school.  At home, students were assigned a task to create their animal using a recycled plastic water bottle.  Students could add to the bottle and were encouraged to be creative.  Overall, it was an awesome hands-on project!
