Local Athlete Going to World Games

Stephen Cuthbert of Bethany has been selected to participate in the 2013 Special Olympics Winter World Games in 2013

19 year old Stephen Cuthbert of Bethany has recently been selected to represent Connecticut on Team USA in the snowshoeing event at the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.  He will compete in the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 4 X 100-meter relay and 4 X 400-meter relay snowshoeing races. The World Winter Games begin on January 29th, 2013.  

Cuthbert has been snowshoeing for over six years and is a member of the Oxford Special Olympics program. He has competed in several annual statewide snowshoeing competitions over the years and was selected to represent team Connecticut in the 2010 Special Olympics National Games in Lincoln, Nebraska. Cuthbert values good sportsmanship, independency, and hard work. He and his family look forward to representing Connecticut and the United States next January.
