January 1, 2013 - The national Association of Divorce Financial Planners' (ADFP) President Lili A. Vasileff announced she is retiring as president effective January 1, 2013. During Ms. Vasileff's long standing tenure of over 11 years as President of the ADFP, she established critical outreach programs to financial professionals, allied divorce professionals and the general public, that helped establish the legitimacy of the divorce planning profession. During her tenure, she has been a leading advocate for fiduciary standards and ethics in divorce financial planning as well as been tireless in promoting ADFP's presence and leadership in the financial community. The ADFP has thrived during her term and grown from a small local practice group to a national organization with state chapters as well as alliances with international practitioners. Though retiring from daily CEO management of the ADFP, Ms. Vasileff has been elected President Emeritus by the Board of the ADFP, and will remain involved in participation, consultation and input with the Board.
Ms. Vasileff said: "I have great pride in the accomplishments of the organization during my term as President. Divorce is a transition of magnitude in most people's lives. We are drawn in by the merger of our expert financial skills that culminates in transformative powers. We speak not only to the financial facts but importantly, to the other side of divorce: the human side. We are critical to the healing of families going through divorce. As a specialist and generalist in the arena for personal financial planning, we have a role in bridging the gaps in the delivery of both disciplined technical expertise and holistic guidance."
