Car Sale Goes Sour When Check Bounces

A Westport man was arrested by warrant on allegations that he attempted to buy a car from a Woodbridge resident with a bad check.

Police said the man, Thomas J. Winston, 33, wrote a check for $4,000 from an account with insufficient funds.

He was arrested by warrant on June 3 on charges of third-degree larceny and issuing a bad check, according to a report released June 18.

Winston was released after posting a $2,500 court set bond. He was due in court on June 18.
