Controversial Housing Complex Application Withdrawn in Woodbridge
The proposal called for 134 units for 55-and-older people, but the developer wanted to change it, which was opposed by residents.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — Woodbridge Village Associates LLC, developers of a proposed 134-unit residential complex in town, have withdrawn the controversial application, reports the New Haven Register.
The developers had sought to change its initial proposal for the complex to be for people 55 and older, a move that drew significant criticism from a host of residents and officials.
WVA LLC had argued to the Planning and Zoning Commission that generating funding for the proposed development would be difficult if it remained age-restricted, but opponents said lifting the requirement would adversely impact the community.
