For a few hours on Saturday night the silence of town hall was shattered by heavy metal and the sound of grown men slamming onto canvas.
CTWE Pro wrestling returned to Bethany for the first time since May, offering a packed house comprised of spectators of all ages the thrill of the sport that is professional wrestling—for only ten dollars.
There were eight matches in all, which included tag team, singles, triple-threat and eight man elimination matches. In addition, there was a first-ever-encounter match between Bobby Ocean and Frank Arion, in which Arion was the victor.

CTWE, founded in August, 2008, is a good opportunity to see young wrestlers just starting out in the business. Many CTWE wrestlers have aspirations of making it all the way to the WWE. This gives fans the opportunity to see rising stars before they make it big.
Wrestler Jimmy Meaz of Waterbury has been wrestling for six years now. Meaz began the evening by becoming the CTWE General Manager after defeating Rick Star’s Rising Stars with his mystery tag team, DPW Tag Team Champions, Last Call- Doug Summers and Andy Sweet.
For Meaz, the inspiration to wrestle has been a lifelong ambition.
“I do it because it’s something I always loved as a child,” Meaz said. It’s the whole rush of entertaining the fans. It’s the adrenaline.”
For CTWE fan Scott Roberts of Manchester, the wrestlers do just that.
“They put on a really good show,” said Manchester resident and wrestling fan Scott Roberts. “There was a good variety of matches. It’s family-friendly and affordable.”
“The passion shines through the most,” Roberts said. “Plus the fan always go home happy. That’s how you know you’ve won.”
The ring announcers for Saturday’s event were Wild Bill Brown and Jared Silks. Matches were refereed by Vinnie Lax, Stevie Ray Cyrus, Nick Anderson, and Wanko.
