Decision Reached in JCC, Woodbridge Neighborhood Disagreement over Pool Hours
The Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven sought to extend the hours of its club pool on Amity Road in Woodbridge.

WOODBRIDGE, CT — The Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven will be able to keep its pool open until 7 p.m. once it builds a new 10-foot wall, plants trees and takes other sound-proofing measures, the Woodbridge Planning and Zoning Commission decided Monday night.
The JCC has wanted to extend its pool hours for some time, but neighbors of the Amity Road facility had fought it. Monday's decision took two commission votes to reach, reports the New Haven Register.
Neither side came out of it particularly happy, writes the Register. Neighbors wanted to keep the hours to 4:30 p.m., and the JCC wanted to avoid having to erect expensive fencing and other sound-proofing requirements.
