Decision Reached on Proposed Soccer Facility at Amity Road Horror Attraction in Bethany

The owner of the attraction opposed the application for the indoor/outdoor soccer complex.

Bethany, CT - The popular Amity Road Horror attraction in Bethany will not happen this Halloween, and is likely gone forever, following a Planning and Zoning Commission decision to allow a new indoor/outdoor soccer facility at the site.

Commissioners unanimously approved the application for the new soccer complex Wednesday night, crushing the hopes of the annual horror attraction's owner Eric Soltis, reports the New Haven Register.

Soltis has operated Amity Road Horror for the past four years, growing it into one of the state's leading Halloween attractions. But the Shelton resident and the property's developer could not reach an agreement to co-exist at the site, with Soltis telling the Register that his offers to meet to discuss a compromise were rebuffed by the soccer folks.
