Expecting a Gaming System, He Got Rocks Instead, Milford Police Say

Two men were supposed to exchange gaming systems but one got just rocks instead.

Now that was cruel, allegedly of course.

Milford police say Daryl Johnson, 19, of Quinnipiac Avenue in New Haven, is accused of reneging on a swap of video game systems by placing rocks inside the box.

Police said they received a complaint regarding a theft that occurred on July 2 at 57 New Haven Avenue. Investigation revealed that the victim made arrangements through Craig’s List with Johnson to exchange their video game systems with each other, police said.

After the exchange, the victim checked the gaming system he was given and found that the box contained rocks in lieu of the item, police said.

Police seized the gaming system from Johnson during a separate unrelated investigation that same day.
