New Haven Chorale - Auditions for 2014/2015 Season
The New Haven Chorale is holding auditions for it's 2014/2015 season
Dear Choral Singer,
If you are a singer with a passion for choral singing, have a desire to improve your musical skills, and would like to use your music to get involved in community outreach, I urge you to audition for the New Haven Chorale! The New Haven Chorale is an amazing, auditioned community of choral musicians from diverse backgrounds and careers who are united by their love of choral singing and devotion to excellence. The members of the Chorale love to sing great choral music, but members will usually tell me that they not only ‘love’ to sing, but ‘need’ to sing because it is an important aspect of their lives. Since its founding in 1950, the New Haven Chorale has been a vital musical and cultural asset to the Greater New Haven community through a variety of concert performances, artistic collaborations with other arts organizations, and innovative community projects. We would love to meet you!!!
A typical audition includes singing a short solo piece of your choice, a brief warm-up to determine range and flexibility, and a little bit of sight-reading. I look forward to meeting new singers that share our passion and love of music.

Audition Information
The New Haven Chorale will hold scheduled auditions for the 2014-2015 season on the following dates:
Thursday, August 21st from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday, August 28th from 6p.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday, September 4th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
at the Educational Center for the Arts, 55 Audubon Street, New Haven.
If these times do not work for you, individual appointments can be scheduled for a mutually agreeable time with you and the music director. In addition, if you are new to the area or just got the idea to sing in in a good choir, you are welcome to observe rehearsals of the New Haven Chorale (Monday evenings from 7-9:30 p.m at Hamden Plains United Methodist Church, 15 Church St. Hamden, CT)—we audition all-year round!!!
