Now Enrolling: Fall After School Farming & Field Trips at Massaro Community Farm
Kids Dig Farms
Massaro Community Farm is now registering individuals for its fall after school program, and groups for its hands-on field trips on the farm.
The weekly after-school program is geared towards children ages 6-10, and allows kids to engage in a variety of farm chores. Participants will care for our farm chickens, walk and explore the farm's nature trail, harvest in our learning garden, and experience the farm's transition to fall. Program will run every Thursday from September 14-November 16, 2017 (except for 9/21 and 10/5) from 3:30-5:30pm. $130/child; scholarships available on a first-come, first-served basis. Transportation provided to the farm from Beecher Road School; parents will pick up at the farm. REGISTER THROUGH WOODBRIDGE REC DEPT.
The farm is also now registering school groups for fall field trips to the farm. Let our new education director lead your class in hands-on lessons covering topics such as pollinators, soil & composting, plant parts and more (click HERE for a full list of program topics). Programs run from 90-120 minutes, and can be adapted for grades K-12, with a picnic area for your group to eat a snack or lunch. We take groups from all districts, regardless of ability to pay. Take advantage of this community resource to get your students out of the classroom, exploring the landscape of the farm, and learning about where their food comes from. Field trips run Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, September until mid-November, and April until mid-June each year. SEND US A FIELD TRIP INQUIRY TODAY.
