Easter food donations have been donated to Connecticut Food Bank

Woodbridge, CT - Because the Social Action Committee of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish was unable to do their Easter food basket distribution, they offered the over 1000 food items that you generously provided to the Connecticut Food Bank.

The traditional Easter Food basket distribution was not possible because of the current shelter-in- place guidelines. The Connecticut Food Bank will distribute the donations to area food pantries where there is a great demand given the high rate of unemployment. The church did not want the food stored away while there was such great need.

In the church's weekly bulletin, it was noted that the Connecticut Food Bank was very surprised by the amount of food the Social Action Committee had collected and were thrilled to receive it. "THANK YOU!! Empty shelves mean more people fed!"

The food pantry is now empty but the need still exists. Donations can still be left in the main vestibule of the church.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.
