WELCOME FR. GLEN DMYTRYSZYN

Greetings,

It gives me great joy to write this letter. My name is Fr. Glen Dmytryszyn and I am honored and thrilled to be appointed the Administrator of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish.

A Connecticut native, my family currently resides in Wethersfield. I attended St. John’s Seminary in Boston and was ordained to the priesthood in May of 2017. Since then, I have served at St. John Bosco Parish in Branford, St. Gregory the Great and St. Matthew Parishes in Bristol, as well as Chaplain of St. Paul Catholic High School and Director of the Respect Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford. I am an avid fan of the New York Yankees and enjoy hiking, kayaking, and golf. One of my greatest joys however is praying and working with the people of God who make our parishes so special. I’m excited to get to know what makes Our Lady of the Assumption the amazing parish that it is. As I get settled, I look forward to meeting and hearing directly from you, the parishioners, about your parish experience.

Jesus is the center of our Catholic lives- He alone gives us purpose, meaning, and hope. Our parish stands as Christ’s presence, through our Celebration of the Eucharist, to all who come into our Church. Taking up the legacy of the past with our eyes set firmly on the future, I am happy to be part of this chapter in the history of the Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Woodbridge.

Please be assured of my prayers. Praying and working together and entrusting ourselves to the powerful intercession of Mary, Our Lady of the Assumption, we will reflect Jesus to our community and beyond!
In Christ,
Fr. Glen

LENT 2022 Spring Cleaning
A time for spiritual inventory; A time to reflect on where I’ve been, where I am and where I’m headed. Assumption Parish is extending an invitation to Catholics you might know who have been away from the Church and the Sacraments to join us for a “safe landing”, settling in and taking a second look at the Catholic faith. This is an opportunity for sharing concerns, doubts, questions and maybe even anger or indifference. The series begins on Thursday, March 16, on ZOOM from 7:00 – 8:15 pm. To receive the zoom link, please contact Sr. Carolyn at 203-387-7119 or: carev2000@yahoo.com

SPECIAL COLLECTION
FOR THE UKRAINE

Next weekend we will have a collection for the people of the Ukraine. Marked collection boxes will be placed at all the entrances to the Center Road church.

You may also go to :
https://www.kofc.org/secure/en... or to archdioceseofhartford.org to make a secure donation or for more information.

The Knights of Columbus announced Feb. 25 a commitment of $1 million for immediate distribution to support Ukrainian refugees, including Ukrainian Knights and their families impacted by the recent Russian invasion of their country. The organization has also launched the Ukraine Solidarity Fund, an international fundraising campaign that will match all funds raised up to an additional $500,000.

The relief funding will be used to provide shelter, food, medical supplies, clothing and religious goods, as well as other humanitarian needs as identified, both directly in Ukraine and through refugee sites in Poland. The Knights will work with both the Latin and Greek Catholic Churches in Ukraine, with dioceses and K of C councils in Poland, and with international humanitarian aid agencies to address needs quickly and effectively. Should fundraising efforts exceed immediate needs, consideration will be given to assist widows and orphans of brother Knights killed as a result of military action, and for assistance in resettlement and rebuilding for communities displaced by conflict and war.

Join us in supporting Ukraine Solidarity Fund! To further your impact, the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council has promised to match every dollar up to $500,000. Already, Knights in Poland are aiding Ukrainian refugees at the border and providing housing for refugee families. At regional centers across Poland, Knights are also collecting supplies — including medicine, generators, sleeping bags and other necessities — and have begun to deliver them to the Archdiocese of Lviv in western Ukraine.

Please prayerfully consider how you can contribute to this effort. Your gift of any amount will go a long way in helping our brothers and sisters. Together, we can bring Christ's healing love to a wounded world.

Beginning the week of March 14th, the Social Action Committee will be collecting items requested by St. Michael's Ukranian Church in New Haven that will be sent to the Ukraine to support the relief effort. Boxes will be placed in the vestibule of the church. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated. New items needed are: tube socks, men's underwear, men's tee shirts, winter coats, aspirin, tylenol, first aid kits, neosporin, saline wound wash, toothpaste, tooth brushes, shampoo, and bar soap.

2022 ARCHBISHOP’S
ANNUAL APPEAL
“STRONGER TOGETHER”
The 2022 Archbishop’s Annual Appeal is now underway in our parish. Our goal is to engage our entire parish family in this year’s Appeal and to pray for the success of the Appeal, both here in our parish and across the three counties of the Archdiocese.
We hope you can help us meet our parish goal of $125,000.00. In the past, our parish has generously donated to the Appeal.

If you would like to make a gift, please mail in your pledge card. You may also visit the Archdiocesan website at www.archdioceseofhartford.org or call the Appeal Office at (800) 781-2550.

Keep in mind that an early pledge will allow you to best use the monthly payment plan. All funds contributed to the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal are used exclusively for the purposes outlined in the Appeal literature, which can be found at https://archdioceseofhartford.org/appeal/. No Appeal funds are ever used for legal fees or settlements. Please respond generously.
