
Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading is underway for the 2011 season.
On Sunday, a very special ceremony is expected to be held at Amity High School to commemorate not only the tenth anniversary of September 11, but also the start of another exciting Pop Warner season.
A full day of tribute is expected to be held, with games scheduled at various intervals.

At 9 am, the seven and eight year olds will take the field, followed by the nine and ten year olds at 11, the eleven and twelve year olds at 1, and the thirteen and fourteen year olds at 3.
The Marine Color guard will be present on Sunday for the coin toss and playing of the national anthem,, as well as first responders from the surrounding towns.

In addition, a moment of silence will be held before the start of each game. Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day.
With 140 football players and cheerleaders from Amity alone, not counting the surrounding towns’ players and families, a big outcome is expected for Sunday’s event. Officials are planning accordingly.
