Three Promoted at Woodbridge Police Department

Three officers were promoted to sergeant and a new officer was welcomed to the force

Three Woodbridge Police Officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant at the July Police Commission meeting.

Michael Blume, Robert J. (RJ) Scott and Richard Rizzuti (pictured, left to right) were promoted to sergeant after the three passed a written exam and oral exam facilitated by the South Central Criminal Justice Administration of Connecticut.

Also that evening, Commission members swore in the newest officer, Michael Luzzi, who transferred from the Orange Police Department.

“I’d like to welcome Officer Luzzi and congratulate Sergeants Blume, Scott and Rizutti on their promotion,” said First Selectman Ellen Scalettar who attended the brief ceremony. “Having high quality police officers has never been more important and we have are fortunate, indeed, to have members of our Department of this high caliber. On behalf of all Town residents, I thank them for their service.”
