UI to start tree trimming in Woodbridge
The Town has been notified that UI will start its tree trimming plan on three state roads this winter.

The Town has been notified that United Illuminating plans to send tree crew contractor, Lewis Tree, to Woodbridge to assess and work on trees over the winter. This is part of UI’s state mandated program to protect power lines form trees.
Read more about the program on UI’s website.
If Lewis Tree wants to remove or trim a tree on your property, they are required to discuss it with you first and if you are not home to leave you a written notice and attempt to contact you again.

They are not permitted to remove a tree from your property without your consent unless the tree is considered a hazard.
UI’s work plans call for Lewis Tree to begin work on three state roads, Ansonia Road, Rimmon Road and Racebrook Road. Since these are state roads, the tree cutting permit will come from the state Department of Transportation and any objections will need to be made in writing to the DOT’s Landscape Engineer, Jim Barnes (DOT District 3 Office, 140 Pond Lily Ave., New Haven, CT 06515).

Lewis Tree also plans to work on side streets immediately off of these three state roads. When UI and Lewis Tree want to remove or trim a tree on a Town road, the permit will come from the Town’s Tree Warden, Warren Connors. Any objections to tree work on Town roads must be made in writing to Warren Connors at 11 Meetinghouse Lane, Woodbridge CT 06525.
