Better late than never! Starting a couple of weeks later than planned due to the cold spring, Massaro Community Farm began its CSA distribution this week. The delay doesn't seem to have affected the quality or quantity of produce available to subscribers though. Spring usually yields a variety of greens such as kale, spinach, bok choy and lettuce. But subscribers were given an early treat when they received zucchini and cucumbers, carrots and strawberries in their weekly distribution. Strawberries are the only fruit currently grown at the farm, but are highly sought after by those who favor organic fruit.
Subscriptions for this year's CSA are sold out (mark your calendar to sign up in January to secure your spot!), but those wishing to purchase the farm's organic produce can find us each Sunday at the Edgewood Farmer's Market in Westville, and periodically at Bethany's Saturday Farmer's Market.
Be sure to check out some of the workshops and other events taking place at Massaro Community Farm this season. Visit the website for a full calendar!
