Voters Decide Fate of Amity Region 5 School Budget
Residents in Bethany, Woodbridge and Orange took to the polls Tuesday to vote on the $47.8 million spending plan.

WOODBRIDGE, CT - By a better than 2-1 margin, residents of Bethany, Woodbrige and Orange voted Tuesday to approve the $47.8 million school budget for 2016-17 in the annual Amity Region 5 referendum.
The total vote tally was 684 in favor to 305 against, according to unofficial results from the Woodbridge Town Clerk's Office. Nearly 150 fewer people voted in this year's referendum (989) than last year (1,136).
By town, Tuesday's vote tallies were:
Bethany - 171 yes, 73 no
Woodbridge - 256 yes, 132 no
Orange - 257 yes, 100 no
