Woman May Face Additional Charges for Christmas Day Accident That Killed Bethany Teen
An online petition has been launched urging the court to bring more charges against the alleged drunk driver from Cheshire.

State Police are continuing to investigate the Christmas Day accident that killed Bethany’s Robert Weidig Jr., 18, and say the Cheshire woman accused of driving under the influence and striking him is likely to face additional charges, according to the Meriden Record-Journal.
Weidig Jr. was struck by a car driven by Barbara Ross, 60, on Route 69 while he was walking near a Bethany Music & Dance event he had planned to attend at about 8:30 p.m. on Christmas.
Ross, of Greens Loop, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and failure to drive in proper lane.

An online petition has been launched at change.org urging New Haven Superior Court for more charges to be brought against Ross.
The petition was started by Gloria Durley, of Bethany, and it has been signed by 1,560 people as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ross is due in court on Jan. 14.
