Woodbridge PD Makes Arrest in First Niagara Bank Robbery
Police arrested the man accused of robbing the bank on Thursday.

The Woodbridge Police Department has arrested a Branford man for robbing the First Niagara Bank in Woodbridge.
According to police, Richard Worthington, 29, was arrested and charged with second degree robbery and third degree larceny.
The incident occurred on Oct. 14 at around noon, when the man entered the bank and demanded money from the teller. The suspect was last seen running on foot east on Mettler Street.

The suspect was recognized by members of the community from the surveillance photos and along with the assistance of the Branford Police Department was identified by detectives, police said.
Worthington was detained overnight at the Woodbridge Police Department in lieu of a $200,000 bond and was presented for arraignment at New Haven Superior Court Friday morning.
