Woodbridge Police Step Up To Help Ukraine With Protective Gear
After speaking with a Woodbridge man from Ukraine, officers sent bullet-proof vests as well as medical supplies and residents can help, too.

WOODBRIDGE, CT —Woodbridge Police Department officer Joseph Kubik reached out to his Ukrainian friend Yuriy Faryna, a Woodbridge resident, about how best to help the people of Ukraine.
Faryna, who was born in Ukraine, moved to the US in 2001, but he has many family members and friends still in Ukraine. Faryna told Kubik that the Ukrainians are in "dire need of ballistic vests and medical supplies."
In an effort to show its support for the Ukrainian community, members of the Woodbridge Police Department were able to donate numerous ballistic vests and provided medical supplies, including tourniquets.

"We hope that our small gesture encourages others to lend support to the Ukrainian people," the department shared in a news release.
According to Faryna, Ukrainians need additional equipment, with a special emphasis on ballistic vests, level four ballistic vests and helmets, it was noted.
