Another Arctic Spell Has Town Opening Warming Centers Through Wednesday Night

The Community House, and James Blackstone and Willoughby Wallace memorial libraries are open for specific hours.

​The town notes that people who are sick or have been in close contact with someone who's tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days should not visit any of the sites. Those who need emergency temporary shelter, please call 2-1-1 or 203-481-4248.

BRANFORD, CT — As arctic-like temperatures are expected to impact Branford over the next couple of days, the town announced that the following locations will serve as warming centers during this extreme cold event:

  • Joe Trapasso Community House 46 Church St., Tuesday until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • James Blackstone Memorial Library, 758 Main St., Tuesday until 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library, 146 Thimble Island Road., Tuesday until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
