Branford Legislative Delegation Announce 'School Construction Win' Thursday
According to legislators, $29.4 million in additional state reimbursement has been secured for Branford school construction projects.

BRANFORD, CT—In what's promised to be an announcement taxpayers will appreciate, local and school officials and Branford's legislative delegation gather Thursday at a local elementary school.
It's expected that state Sen. Christine Cohen (D-Guilford), state Rep. Robin Comey (D-Branford), and state Rep. Moira Rader (D-Guilford), joined by Branford First Selectman Josh Brooks and Branford Superintendent Dr. Christopher Tranberg, will share the "school construction local win for taxpayers."
According to officials, $29.4 million in additional state reimbursement has been secured for Branford school construction projects at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School and Mary R. Tisko Elementary School.

The funding is through Senate Bill 1, "An Act Making Adjustments To The State Budget For The Biennium Ending June 30, 2027, Making Deficiency Appropriations For The Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2026, Authorizing And Adjusting Bonds Of The State And Concerning Provisions Relating To Revenue, School Construction And Other Items To Implement The State Budget."
Lawmakers and other officials will gather at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School, 14 Brushy Plain Road, on Thursday at 10 a.m.
