Branford's Alex Palluzzi Sr., 92, Died Friday: Report
A Korean War veteran and Branford Sports Hall of Fame inductee, Palluzzi was a devoted civic and community leader and youth sports coach.
BRANFORD, CT — The New Haven Register reports that Alex Palluzzi Sr. died on Friday morning at age 92.
His son is Alex Palluzzi Jr., Branford’s recreation director.
Palluzzi Sr. and his wife Jeanette were inducted into the Branford Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Its biography of Palluzzi Sr., reads he was a first generation Italian-American. A decorated Korean War veteran, he was an assistant chaplain and medic. Palluzzi Sr. was honored with a state Public Service Award in 2010.
Palluzzi Sr. had a five-decade-long career with the Tilcon-Tomaso Company.

He played baseball while in the Army and when he returned after his honorable discharge to Branford, he “played sandlot baseball as a centerfielder for the Branford Townies and North Branford Baseball Teams,” his bio reads.
Palluzzi Sr. was a Branford Lions Club member, and received the Humanitarian Service Award from the Branford and Connecticut Lions.
