Broadway Talent Live at Legacy Theatre this Weekend and Next!

Broadway is back in Branford beginning this weekend!

Nikki M James, Tony Award winner for her role in Broadway's The Book of Mormon, takes the Legacy stage on Sunday, February 26 at 2:00 PM. Known for her performances in productions such as Broadway's Les Misérables (Eponine) and All Shook Up (Lorraine), as well as La Jolla Playhouse's The Wiz (Dorothy), for which she won the 2006 Craig Noel Award, James kicks off the 2023 Sunday Broadway Concert Series at Legacy Theatre with an incredible concert that you won't want to miss! James is accompanied by singer/songwriter, pianist, and musical director, Nate Buccieri.

Max von Essen, Tony nominee for An American in Paris, performs the following Sunday, March 5, at 2:00pm. Local audiences will recognize him from his lauded performance as Julian Marsh in 42nd Street at the Goodspeed Opera House last season. Von Essen is joined by Grammy-winning composer and famed musical director, Billy Stritch. Their concert, titled, “Call Me Old Fashioned,” embraces a love of the golden age of Broadway and the American Songbook, from the Gershwins to Lerner and Loewe, from An American in Paris to Jersey Boys.

The two concerts are part of Legacy Theatre's 2023 Sunday Broadway Concert Series, a program that brings talent fresh from Broadway to perform live in Legacy's beautiful, intimate theatre in Branford. In-person and livestream ticket options are available for all performances in the series. Tickets start as low as $25 for in-person performances, with livestream tickets available for only $20. Subscriptions are available for the series, which include these two performances as well as concerts with Eden Espinosa, Jenn Colella, Orfeh, and Hugh Panaro. Flex Passes are also available for purchase, which allow you to pick four of the concerts to attend out of the series for a discounted rate.
