CELC Students Sail!

All aboard the 46’ ketch Boundless with Different Drum Sailing Adventures (https://www.differentdrumsailing.com), a small group of CELC Middle School students enjoyed 7 days of sailing Casco Bay, Maine. CELC supports Captain Jeff’s philosophy of giving students experiences and modeling that life does not have to come to a halt, even within such challenging times. After all participants tested negative, we were on our way!

Learning all about life aboard a boat, navigating, setting sails, wind, weather, knot tying, and even history of navigation and using a sextant, each day brought a new adventure of exploration and discovery – as quoted by Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. “A mind stretched by new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.”
