
Paul Bruce Lewellyn (Bruce), 82, of Vineyard Haven, passed away at his home on Sept. 14, 2021. Born in 1938 in Hutchinson, KS, he attended the University of Kansas and Stanford Law School. He married Jean Braddon in 1963. They settled in Hamden, CT where Bruce practiced law in New Haven for the firm of Tyler Cooper & Alcorn for 37 years. He served on the boards of Christian Community Action (CCA) and Mary Wade Home and volunteered for many years building houses with Habitat for Humanity. In retirement, they relocated to Martha’s Vineyard in 2004.
He is survived by his wife Jean, their children; Braddon Lewellyn of Albuquerque NM, Megan Lewellyn of Seattle, WA and Curt Lewellyn of Boston, MA as well as his three grandchildren; Sam, Piper, and Max Shethar who will always remember their beloved “Poppa” for his wit, wisdom, and gentle nature.
A funeral service for family and friends was held on Sunday, October 3 at the Federated Church of Edgartown.
