Obituary: Francis “Frank” Salzano, 81, of Branford
He worked for the family business but when not working, you could always find him at his grandkids sporting events, or the lake house.
Francis “Frank” Salzano of Branford passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. When he wasn’t working, you could always find him at his grandkids sporting events, or the lake house. He was the husband of the late Diana Moricoli Salzano of Branford. He was the father of Deborah Bardinelli (Donald) of Clinton, Dina Smith (Christopher) of Clinton, and Jennifer Catalano (Matthew) of Berlin. He was the brother of Marie Jones of East Haven, and brother-in-law of Barbara Rivellini (Louis) of Clinton and Pam Morin (John) of West Haven. He is also survived by his grandchildren Haley, Alyssa, and Emily Smith, Joshua and Jacob Bardinelli, and Ryan, Zachary, and Grace Catalano as well as many nieces and nephews.
Frank was born in New Haven on May 6, 1942, the son of the late Andrew and Irene Onofrio Salzano. He worked for the family business at Forbes Market for many years, as well as for Dattco Bus Company as a mechanic.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 at St. Mary Church of St. John Bosco Parish in Branford. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Foodshare, 2 Research Parkway, Wallingford, CT 06492, where Frank often volunteered.
