Obituary: Joan Corrine Roth Fettes, 91, of Branford
A longtime Yale School of Nursing senior administrative assistant, she loved sports, especially UConn basketball and swimming in LI Sound.

Joan Corrine Roth Fettes of Branford died Saturday May 27, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to Frank D. Fettes. Joan was born in Branford on July 29, 1931, daughter of the late Harold and Matilda Schneider Roth. She was the mother of Jeffrey Abbotts of Warren, RI and Philip (Deborah) Abbotts of Georgetown, ME, the grandmother of Jesse Rogers of Berlin, VT and Justin Abbotts of North Branford and the great-grandmother of Tristan and Elliot Rogers and Corrine and Kai Lana Abbotts.
She had worked as the senior administrative assistant at the Yale University School of Nursing for over 30 years until retiring. She had a lifelong love of sports, especially UConn basketball. She loved to swim in Long Island Sound, either from her boat or from the beach. She continued swimming right up to her 92nd birthday. Joan and Frank made a life together that formed as one life, inseparable until now.

Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday June 12th at 11:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford.
