Obituary: Joseph A. Kovecses Sr., 61, of Branford

Joseph A. Kovecses Sr. of Branford passed away Saturday April 29, 2023 at the Hospital of St. Raphael. He was the husband of Denise Abrams Kovecses. He was the father of Joseph A. Kovecses Jr. (Monica) of Orlando, FL and Kaitlin Kovecses of Winter Haven, FL. He was the brother of Mark Kovecses of Branford and Laszlo Kovecses (Paula) of Eastport, Maine. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph “Jack” Kovecses III and Robert Kovecses, his nieces and nephews Mandy, Ray, Alex, and Jamie, and also his first wife, Deborah Kovecses Weston of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister Zita Kovecses. Joe was born in New Haven on October 23, 1961, a son of the late Laszlo and Rose Rovaldi Kovecses.

He was a Tool and Die maker and worked for Mold Threads in Branford for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

A memorial visitation will be held on Monday May 15 from 4-8 P.M. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St. Branford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital @ www.stjude.org.
