Pickleball Story and Why Play!

It is exciting to be organizing Pickleball Vacations! Yep – that’s right, it seems my life is (mostly) all about Pickleball these days. You may have heard of this sport, the newest craze of the century? You may play, or know others who do?

Here are just some of the reasons why I think Pickleball is so well-loved:

Pickleball is a very social sport. Anywhere pickleball is played, you have community, can rotate into a doubles game, get to know people, have fun doing something you enjoy. During play, there are shots that are great, and some unexpected moments for sure – this brings laughter, praise, and some humility throughout; it is encouraged not to take yourself or others too seriously!

This is a supportive sport, “no sorrys in pickleball”! The game is relatively easy to learn to play and feel accomplished. Beginners get “good’ relatively quickly from playing the game. It improves coordination, is great for cardiovascular, yet less impactful than tennis for sure on “older bodies. It is a true multi-generational sport – younger players are now finding the game, playing with older people who already found it! Getting to more advanced level includes learning strategies and shot placement, and that comes with experience. Overall, it is a fin sport that can be played long into someone s life.

I see it as a win-win-win: for building relationships throughout the world and combining the love of travel with an active lifestyle and playtime!

If this is something that sounds interesting, intriguing, exciting, … do consider putting winter plans in place for some amazing pickleball in a beautiful location, while on vacation.

It would be great to have you join this January / February Pickleball Vacation. It is designed for anyone who wants to learn the sport and for those who already play who want to improve their game. Our Pro, Lane Ethridge will bring his expertise to work with all levels of players, with drills, round-robin, etc.; he will especially focus on the intermediate /advanced players while I work with beginners. The all-inclusive resort has many activities, so if you travel with someone who doesn’t yet play, it is a fine vacation destination.
