Second Meeting on New Branford Teachers' Contract to be Held Next Week
The RTM Education Committee will discuss the contract and bring its recommendation to the full RTM for a vote.

The Representative Town Meeting Education Committee will hold its second meeting to discuss the new three-year Branford teachers’ contract, The Sound reports.
The meeting will be held on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at Branford Fire Headquarters.
Under the new contract, teachers would get a 9.6 percent raise spread over three years, the paper reports. With higher teacher contributions to health care costs and the new high deductible health care plan the raise is approximately 5.7 percent.

The Board of Education voted to approve the new contract at its Nov. 19 meeting.
According to the paper, the RTM Education Committee will present its recommendation to the full RTM on Dec. 10 for a final vote.
