WATCH: Rescued Pregnant Cat, Shot With BB Gun, Has Given Birth

Several weeks ago, Branford animal refuge workers rescued a pregnant cat who'd been shot with a BB gun; the pellet lodged near her heart.

BRANFORD, CT — Back in February, the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and the Branford Compassion Club worked together to trap, rescue and rehabilitate cats around the area of Route 1 and Montoya Apartments.

One trapped cat had a pellet that was shot from a BB gun lodged near her heart. And, she was pregnant.

It's okay, this has a happy ending.

It's not clear if either animal refuge learned who may have shot the one-year-old cat, but the mama-to-be was brought to the Branford Compassion Club where she's been loved, and cared for. They named her Sachi.

A few days ago, brave girl Sachi gave birth to a litter of (adorable) kittens.
