BRIDGEPORT, CT — One of the teenagers from last week's crash between a scooter and a pickup truck in Bridgeport has died, according to his family, and a GoFundMe page has been set up in his honor.

AJ De Jesus and a 17-year-old were riding on a scooter last Wednesday when they were struck by a pickup truck on Kossuth Street near Berkshire Avenue, according to Bridgeport police. The other teen, who police did not identify, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

"My nephew fought hard, but unfortunately, his body couldn't handle the trauma," wrote Jovanna Hopkins, who organized the GoFundMe campaign on behalf of De Jesus's family.
