2 Bridgeport City Council Members Arrested Separately At Polls: Police
Both incidents occurred about 45 minutes apart at the JFK Campus polling site on Tuesday.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — In unrelated incidents Tuesday, two members of Bridgeport's City Council were arrested at the JFK Campus polling site, according to Bridgeport police.
The first incident, which involved Counsilwoman Samia Suliman, occurred at about 4:20 p.m. Police were sent to the site following a 911 call, and Suliman was placed under arrest on a charge of breach of peace.
The second incident, which involved Councilwoman Maria Pereira, occurred about 45 minutes later at the same site.

Pereira is accused of assaulting a 70-year-old woman, and was charged with third-degree assault.
Details of the two incidents were not disclosed.
