Bridgeport Councilwoman Accused Of Interfering In Co-Op's Finances
Success Village reportedly sued City Councilwoman Maria Pereira, claimed she interfered in a water dispute.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport City Councilwoman Maria Pereira is being sued by the board of Success Village, a co-op in the Mill Hill section, over Pereira's alleged interference in a water dispute, the Connecticut Post reported.
Success Village has been in the midst of a hot water crisis, after the 900-unit housing complex's boilers were reportedly shut down over safety concerns. The remedy of using temporary heaters has not worked out for all the residents, reportedly leaving some with lukewarm or cold water.
The lawsuit claims that Pereira told residents to withhold their common charge payments, which severely impacted the board finances.
