Bridgeport Man Sentenced To Prison In Fatal Stratford Shooting: Report

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 30-year-old Bridgeport man was sentenced to 22 years in prison in connection with the fatal shooting of Jalen Parilla, 37, in Stratford 2021, the Connecticut Post reported.

Miguel Rojas was accused of stalking Parilla, who was the new boyfriend of Rojas' former girlfriend, before shooting him.

Rojas, who was initially charged with murder, pleaded no contest to first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and criminal possession of a firearm.

After prison, Rojas must serve five years of probation; he was also fined $5,000 by Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton.
