Bridgeport Murder Suspect Extradited From Georgia

The suspect is accused of killing 68-year-old Bridgeport resident Gregory Williams.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The suspect in the killing of 68-year-old Bridgeport resident Gregory Williams has been extradited from Georgia back to Bridgeport to face a murder charge, according to local authorities.

Bridgeport resident Anthony Marion, 58, was apprehended in Fulton County, Georgia, in July, and was brought back to Bridgeport on Wednesday.

Marion stands accused of stabbing Williams in December 2020, during an incident on Iranistan Avenue; Williams died nearly two years later of complications from the stabbing.

"He gave a full confession to Bridgeport Police Detectives," said Capt. Kevin Gilleran in a statement.

Marion was held in lieu of bail of $1.5 million, and he was scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.
