BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Animal Control is seeking the public's help in finding the person responsible for mistreating and abandoning an injured and malnourished dog Monday night.

The dog, described as a small female "bully" mixed breed, was found roaming the area of Shell Street before being captured at Shell Street and Harbor Avenue.

She was extremely thin with an open wound resembling a burn covering a large portion of her ribcage and was so severely injured that veterinarians recommended euthanasia, police said.
