Case Falls Apart, Bridgeport Stabbing Suspect Released: Report
Taquan McCrae had been in jail for close to a year following his arrest in connection with the May 2016 stabbing in Stamford.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 22-year-old Bridgeport man, who has spent nine months in jail awaiting trial in a Stamford stabbing case, was released last week after the case against him fell apart, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Testimony by the 28-year-old victim exonerated Taquan McCrae in connection with the May 2016 stabbing near Brother Jimmy's BBQ on Bedford Street. The victim suffered wounds to his abdomen, but said in court that McCrae was not the person who stabbed him.
McCrae spent months in jail unable to raise the $100,000 bond required to free him. The victim says he does not know who stabbed him.
