Charges Filed In School Bus Crash That Injured 13: Report

The two-vehicle crash occurred on Jan. 15.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The operators of a school bus and a sedan, which were involved in a crash last month that injured 13 people, have both been charged by Bridgeport police, the Connecticut Post reported.

The Jan. 15 crash at the intersection of East Main and Arctic streets left 10 children and three adults injured — eight children on the bus, two children in the sedan, two adults in the bus and one adult in the sedan, according to authorities.

Police did not release the identities of the two drivers, who are both from Bridgeport, but the 52-year-old woman who was operating the bus was reportedly charged with failure to obey a traffic signal.

As for the sedan driver, a 64-year-old man, he was also reportedly charged with failure to obey a traffic signal, in addition to not having registration, not having insurance, and misuse of plates.
