Defendant Sentenced In Connection With 2017 Bridgeport Murder: Report

Bridgeport resident Eric Diaz, 19, was shot and killed by Stratford resident Lonnie Mebane, 57, in September 2017, according to authorities.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 57-year-old Stratford man was sentenced to 60 years in prison on Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of Bridgeport resident Eric Diaz in 2017, reported the Connecticut Post.

Lonnie Mebane was found guilty of murder with a firearm and related charges in May, and his second lengthy stay in prison.

In 2011, he was released from prison after a 25-year sentence in connection with a 1985 home invasion, according to the publication.
