Hundreds Of Public School Jobs Still Available In Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Though schools are scheduled to open in Bridgeport in less than two weeks, the district still looking to fill hundreds of jobs, according to officials.

Among the positions that have the most openings are at the elementary school level, where at least 100 teaching positions are available.

Dozens of high school and middle school teaching positions also need filling.

It's important to note that just because the school district is looking to hire for a position, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's a new position added to the budget.

It could be a seasonal job or a vacancy to fill or even to fulfill a mandate, including in the special education program.
