Bridgeport Pair Arrested In 2025 Hit-And-Run That Killed Pedestrian: Police (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents are facing serious charges after police linked them to a 2025 hit-and-run that fatally injured pedestrian Zandrea Harris near Noble Avenue. Investigators say a white sedan struck Harris, continued down the street with her, and left her behind before fleeing. One suspect has posted bond and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court, while the other remains held on bail.
   

2. Two injured after Bridgeport shooting ends in crash, police say (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport officials say two people were injured Friday after gunfire on Grandview Avenue led to a vehicle crash near Pembroke and Maple Streets, with one victim suffering a non-life-threatening leg wound. Police used the ShotSpotter system to detect more than 20 shots, detained those in the crashed vehicle, and are continuing to investigate possible charges.
   

3. A church is moving into the Downtown Cabaret — and says the shows aren't over (ctpost.com) — Bridgeport's former Downtown Cabaret Theatre at 263 Golden Hill Street is becoming a Vox Church location, but both the owner and church say they hope to keep hosting performances and cultural events. Local arts leaders and downtown boosters are cautiously optimistic the historic space will stay active, even as it shifts toward regular worship services and community gatherings.
   

4. 'This is a public health crisis'. Local lawmaker warns of powerful animal sedative flooding Bridgeport drug market (news12.com) — Bridgeport residents are being warned about Medetomidine, a powerful animal sedative increasingly found in local street drugs and potentially deadly when mixed with substances like fentanyl. State Sen. Herron Gaston and health officials call the situation a public health crisis and urge anyone at risk to seek information, support, and treatment resources immediately.
   

5. Bridgeport lottery player lands $50K prize on $5 Monopoly ticket (shorenewsnetwork.com) — A Bridgeport resident just scored a $50,000 prize from a $5 Monopoly scratch ticket, with the winning ticket sold at the Big Y Milford Express. While the Connecticut Lottery hasn't named the winner or shared their plans, the big payout puts Bridgeport on this week's list of towns with major lottery wins.
